From the mouth of babes...

Yesterday I was riding in the car and Logan says, "Dad, I need to ask you a serious question?"

"Okay, shoot", I reply.

"So, Dad, what's it all about? What is life for? Why did God make us?"

"Wow, Logan, you just may be the first 10 year old to concern himself with the greatest question vexing humankind!"

I go on to unpack why we were created... I used the type (shadow of something much larger) of a model airplane imitating and showing us what the real version is like....and how God gave Susanne and I a pang to have our boys and the joy of having, raising, investing in, loving, relating with, including that goes with them "being".

He got it... Whew! I thought it was going to be birds and bees!

Actually, we're doing a weekend away for just that conversation with just the guys in early October. That'll be interesting!
